Local organisations in Mulgoa are being encouraged to apply for the latest round of Investing in Women grants program, as the NSW Government doubles the support on offer to $400,000.

Member for Mulgoa, Tanya Davies MP said applications for Investing in Women grants are open to organisations in Mulgoa that promote pathways and reduce barriers for women entering the workforce or their chosen profession.

“Mulgoa has a diverse job landscape from small businesses in retail and construction to larger companies in the area that employ locals. I encourage applications from local organisations that aim to give women in Mulgoa more opportunities to participate and lead in the workforce,” Mrs Davies said.

Along with double the funding for round six of the program, guidelines have been changed to increase the maximum amount available per grant from $25,000 to $100,000.

“We want this funding to have a renewed focus on supporting proven projects that are sustainable, as well as helping new initiatives come to life,” Mrs Davies said.

The NSW Government is calling for applications in seven key areas:

  • Women’s economic opportunity and advancement;
  • Equitable workplaces for women and men;
  • Women in small business;
  • Women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers;
  • Women in male-dominated trades;
  • Women in leadership roles; and
  • Leadership pathways for young women.

“While it’s encouraging that we are seeing increasing numbers of women in the workforce, we want to further support gender equity in all industries and at every level,” Mrs Davies said.
