Member for Mulgoa, Tanya Davies MP met with President of the Philippine Australian Society for Senior Citizens Inc. (PASSCI), Jose Relunia Jr to provide a grant of $3,850 for their ‘Bringing Awareness on Dementia to the Wider Community’ forum.
“I congratulate PASSCI’s important work in providing community services to Filipino Australian seniors,” Tanya Davies said.
“The Forum’s discussion will focus on exchanging ideas on perceptions and stigma around dementia and the importance of advance care planning.”
“I am pleased to provide the $3,850 grant to assist with the costs associated with organising the Forum and thank the Minister for Health, Brad Hazzard for securing this funding.”
President of PASSCI, Jose Relunia Jr thanked the NSW Government for making this event possible.
“We decided to hold this forum to bring awareness of dementia to the wider community many of whom care for people with dementia” Mr Relunia said.
“September is the month to bring awareness for those living with dementia and we want family members, community leaders and the wider community to talk about this important issue.”
The Forum will take place on Saturday 22nd September from 10:30am at the Mount Druitt Hub, Ayres Grove, Mount Druitt.
