Mulgoa MP, Tanya Davies is encouraging local organisations to apply for funding under the Seniors Week Grants Program.
Mrs Davies said she was pleased the grant program had been extended for another year following a successful Seniors Week in 2012.
"I presented a $500 cheque to Kim Carter from St Clair Youth and Neighborhood Team Inc. last year to help stage their ‘Live Life to the Full Luncheon' during Seniors Week 2012." Mrs Davies said.
"It was a fantastic initiative to show the communities appreciation for the Seniors in our area"
"Seniors make a tremendous contribution to our community through volunteering, mentoring and other activities, and Seniors Week is a great opportunity to recognise the outstanding work they do," Mrs Davies said.
The Seniors Week Grant Program provides funding to not-for-profit community groups, charities, public companies and Local Government bodies to create activities to celebrate NSW Seniors Week, which is from 17-24 March 2013.
