$4,011 NSW GOVERNMENT GRANT FOR WERRINGTON FOOTBALL CLUB

Friday March 13, 2015

Tanya Davies MP, State Member for Mulgoa, visited Werrington Football Club this week and met with young junior football players, their parents and the club’s executive committee members to announce that their club was successful in receiving a one-off NSW Government grant for $4,011.

The grant is for much needed replacement of goal nets, player training bibs, match and training balls to help start off the 2015 football season.

“I am delighted to announce that the Werrington Football Club has been successful with their grant submission. I advocated strongly for the club at short notice to deliver this important financial support, just as the football season is about to start” said Tanya Davies.

The Club’s committee, led by President Antony Kukac and Treasurer Joe Orlovic were on hand to welcome Tanya and the announcement at their playing fields located at 229 Luddenham Road Luddenham.

“I can’t recall the last time we were successful for a grant from any level of government, so our club is very grateful that Tanya has fought hard to deliver this great result for us at such short notice” said President Antony Kukac.

“We’ve made grant applications in past through other sources, without success, so this result is a real bonus for our club” said Treasurer Joe Orlovic.

“This couldn’t have come at a better time” said one of the parents.

“Werrington Football Club is one of 31 clubs affiliated with the Nepean Football Association in the Nepean region. Compared to other clubs in the district, we are one of the smaller clubs, so a grant of this size makes a big difference for our members and players” said Dale Whitchard, Club Vice President.

Football clubs in the Nepean district are still taking player registrations for the upcoming 2015 winter season, which is due to start on State Election Day, 28 March 2015.
