Member for Mulgoa, Tanya Davies MP today welcomed 13 new police officers to St Marys Local Area Command (LAC).
Mrs Davies said that St Marys LAC received a huge boost in numbers out of the 437 new police officers who started this week.
"After my many meetings and letters and phone calls, I am so happy that the needs of St Marys LAC have finally been recognised."
"St Marys LAC received the 2nd biggest allocation of new officers in the State (after Bankstown, which received 14 officers)" Mrs Davies said.
The 2012-13 state Budget includes $178 million in recurrent funding over the next four years to bring the NSW Police Force to a record strength of 16,356 officers by June 2014.
“The NSW Government is proud to announce the authorised strength of the NSW Police Force is now 16,016." Mrs Davies said.
St Marys Local Area Commander, Superintendant Ray Filewood said he was pleased with the numbers allocated to St Marys.
