Member for Mulgoa Tanya Davies MP has welcomed a decision by the RMS to change the traffic light sequence at the intersection of Mulgoa and Schoolhouse Roads, Regentville.
There will no longer be a permanent red arrow to stop cars turning right into Schoolhouse Road from Mulgoa Road until oncoming traffic has been halted.
Mrs Davies said that this will deliver additional green light time for vehicles travelling south along Mulgoa Road at this intersection.
"I made this case to the Roads and Maritime Service and after receiving an unsatisfactory response put the case to the Traffic Management Center, who inspected the situation and delivered this positive result for the community" Mrs Davies said.
Mrs Davies said she has been working hard on finding solutions to the Mulgoa Road traffic.
"Late last year I met onsite with the RMS Sydney Region Traffic Manager and showed him the problems first hand"
"As a result of that inspection, the RMS agreed to update their traffic counts and then consider a range of options for improvement" Mrs Davies said.
"I will keep the community updated as we work through the challenging issues associated with traffic flow into and out of Glenmore Park".
