On Saturday 7th December, Colyton St Clair Little Athletics celebrated their annual Christmas Party in conjunction with their 30th Anniversary as a club.
“Our Club’s annual Christmas raffle fundraiser was held today with many parents donating some great prizes for the draw. The athletes loved the rides and must have completely exhausted themselves running and jumping around by the end of the event.” said Mr Matt Rose, President of Colyton St Clair Little Athletics.
Santa showed up to greet the kids and had plenty of presents to hand out. Santa's sleigh came in the form of a Fire Truck from Shane's Park Fire Station, and Santa (and the kids) loved the spectacle of it with many photo opportunities.
The morning ended with the annual egg catching competition, and the occasional water fight.
The Club Committee members were delighted to have Tanya Davies MP, Member for Mulgoa, attend the party and have acknowledged her great assistance to the club over many years to make Saunders Park a great athletics venue.
Mr Matt Rose complimented the Club’s many dedicated sponsors also, 'Starr Partners - Erskine Park' and 'St Mary's RSL', who have supported the club for most of its 30 years. He also welcomed the Club’s newest sponsor 'Shark Helmets'.
Over its 30 year history the club has had a strong representation at State and National level Championships for both Little Athletics and primary and secondary school championships.
The club is affiliated with its parent organisation 'Little Athletics NSW'. The club averages an annual membership of around 230-250 athletes ranging between the ages of Under 4's to Under 17's with athletes belonging not only to the local area but also the outer suburbs as well, many coming from the soccer, football and netball teams in their off seasons.
