Motorists are advised changed traffic conditions will be in place from this Monday on Mulgoa Road at Mulgoa for around three months for essential road maintenance.

Roads and Maritime Services is replacing asphalt on Mulgoa Road from Mayfair Road to around 300 metres south of St Thomas Road.

The NSW Government is funding this essential maintenance work as part of its $1.5 billion program to maintain and improve the 18,028 kilometre state road network.

The maintenance work aims to prevent or minimise damage to roads from weather and wear and tear to make them safer, provide consistent driving conditions and reduce maintenance costs in the long term.

To minimise disruption to motorists, work will be carried out at night between 8pm and 5am from Monday 15 January to Friday 27 April, excluding public holidays as well as Friday and Saturday nights, weather permitting.

For the safety of workers and motorists, lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place during work hours and may affect travel times.

Motorists are advised to follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs and keep to the reduced speed limit.

Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
