Member for Mulgoa, Tanya Davies MP has encouraged the community to pause and reflect on the sacrifice of our fallen NSW Police officers this Friday 29 September for National Police Remembrance Day.

A special ceremony will be held at the NSW Police Wall of Remembrance, The Domain on 29 September 2017 commencing at 9:00am to mark National Police Remembrance Day.

“Every year we gather to remember the men and women who dedicated their lives to the safety of others,” Tanya Davies said.

“Our police officers go to work day in and day out not knowing what they will confront in the line of duty, or whether they will return home safely at the end of their shift.

“On this day, it is important that we acknowledge those officers who have lost their lives as a result of their policing career. But we must also pay our respects to our local men and women in blue who work tirelessly to keep us safe from harm every day.”

Minister for Police Troy Grant said the community should never take the contribution of our police for granted.

“If you see an officer out on the beat, please stop them and thank them for the work they do,” Mr Grant said.

“On National Police Remembrance Day, I stand with the entire police family to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of community safety.”
