Have Your Say On Roper Road and M4 Motorway Intersection Improvements

Wednesday October 9, 2013

Tanya Davies, Member for Mulgoa, is delighted to announce that the local community in her electorate are invited to have their say on planned road improvements to the southbound right turn lane at the intersection of Roper Road and the M4 Motorway at Colyton.

“Roads and Maritime Services is proposing to extend the southbound right turn lane at the intersection of Roper Road and M4 Motorway at Colyton to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow” said Tanya Davies.

This is a $1.5 million project funded under the NSW Government’s ‘Sydney Congestion Treatments Program’ and includes:

  1. a right turn lane extension onto the M4 Motorway to Carlisle Avenue aimed to reduce the crash risk by ensuring vehicles do not block the through lane,
  2. the installation of a no stopping zone southbound from Carlisle Avenue to the M4 Motorway on-ramp and a bus zone near the pedestrian refuge,
  3. a new pedestrian footpath and kerb would also be installed on the eastern side of Roper Road as part of the work, and
  4. installation of a new road surface, kerb and guttering, new signs and line marking.

“If the project proceeds, Roads and Maritime Services would work to reduce the impact of noise and traffic congestion throughout the construction phase”
Tanya Davies said.

Community feedback can be sent to Roads and Maritime Services Road Network Officer James Suprain PO Box 973, Parramatta NSW 2124 or email James.Suprain@rms.nsw.gov.au by Friday 18 October 2013.
