Member for Mulgoa, Tanya Davies MP today advised the community of slope improvement work to be carried out on the M4 Western Motorway between Bennett and Roper Roads at St Clair.
Tanya Davies said the work is being delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $1.5 billion maintenance program which helps maintain and improve roads across the state.
“Essential maintenance work is being carried out on this busy stretch of road to improve safety for motorists and reduce ongoing future maintenance requirements,” Tanya Davies said.
“Work will involve upgrading drains and stabilising the embankment along this busy stretch of the M4 Western Motorway.”
Work is scheduled to be carried out between Monday 15 May and Monday 14 August, excluding public holidays and weather permitting.
To minimise the impact to motorists, night work will be carried out between 9pm and 5am and day work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm, excluding Saturdays.
“Work is expected to take around 30 night shifts and 30 day shifts to complete and may be noisy at times but all measures will be taken to minimise impact to residents, including completing the noisier tasks before 11pm,” Tanya Davies said.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Roads and Maritime Services thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
