Tanya Davies MP, Member for Mulgoa, today responded to claims and comments published by a Sun Herald editor on the topic of the NSW Government pursuing an alternative site for waste located at Hunters Hill.
“The NSW Government's position remains unchanged. We will not transfer any restricted solid waste from Hunters Hill to Kemps Creek. The National Radioactive Waste Management Facility planned by the Federal Government still remains the preferred option."
“The community will never forget the treachery of the former State Labor Government who dumped on the people of Western Sydney by signing a contract to send all the contaminated soil to Kemps Creek.” Tanya Davies said.
“In contrast, the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government is continuing to work cooperatively with its Federal counterparts to investigate alternative options.”
