Eligible organisations in Mulgoa can take advantage of the opportunity to apply for grants supporting NAIDOC Week 2018 activities, Member for Mulgoa, Tanya Davies MP said today.
The grants of up to $3,000 are available to grass roots organisations to run local events marking NAIDOC Week, the annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Tanya Davies said this was a great initiative from the NSW Government.
“NAIDOC Week is a unique opportunity for Mulgoa to come together and recognise the culture, history and achievements of our First Australians and their contributions to this country,” Tanya Davies said.
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Sarah Mitchell said that she looks forward to seeing how communities across the state use the NAIDOC Week grants.
“I encourage local organisations in Mulgoa and right across the state to apply for grant funding to host events during this NAIDOC Week that celebrate the important place Aboriginal people play in our communities,” she said.
Grant applications open Tuesday 6 March and close Friday 20 April 2018.
