Tanya Davies MP, Member for Mulgoa today joined with the Minister for Disability Services and Minister for Ageing John Ajaka in applauding the commitment of more than 75,000 Meals on Wheels volunteers across Australia as part of National Meals on Wheels Day.
Mr Ajaka said that the Meals on Wheels service makes it possible for older Australians and people with disability to stay in their homes by delivering nutritious meals, social interaction and regular visits.
Tanya Davies said that the NSW Government is committed to increasing independence and participation amongst seniors and people with disability. Through the dedication of volunteers under the Meals on Wheels program vulnerable members can stay in their homes and have access to nutritious food.
“This is a valuable program which highlights our strong community spirit and the significant contribution of volunteers not just in NSW, but around Australia,” Tanya Davies said.
Nepean Food Services located in Regentville in the electorate of Mulgoa is a proud member of the NSW Meals on Wheels association.
