The NSW Premier, Mike Baird visited St Clair Shopping Centre as part of his tour of western Sydney yesterday. Accompanied by local State Member Tanya Davies, they walked through the shopping centre meeting and greeting local business owners and shoppers, taking selfies and shaking hands with passers-by.
The Premier met local newsagency proprietor Han Jiang, and his assistant. Responding to their concerns about the negative TV campaigns over the past few weeks, he reassured them saying “don’t believe the scare campaign. There’s no sell off of state’s assets, just a 49% lease of poles and wires with the rent received up front and reinvested into more state assets like schools, roads and hospitals.”
The Premier also met St Clair High School Principal, Chris Presland, who thanked the Premier for the State Government’s recent announcement that a re-elected Baird Government will invest $3 million more than the insurance cover to rebuild St Clair High School after a devastating fire last year destroyed 80 per cent of the school’s infrastructure.
Yesterday was also the Premier’s 25th wedding anniversary. Happy Anniversary Premier!
