NSW Premier and Minister for Western Sydney Barry O’Farrell today inspected the progress of construction on Toll Group’s new $170 million freight sorting facility at Eastern Creek – the latest example of a leading Australian company setting up operations in Western Sydney.
“This is a huge investment in Western Sydney – Toll Group’s purpose-built freight sorting facility will be the largest of its kind in the country,” Mr O’Farrell said.
This investment is creating about 200 jobs during construction and secures hundreds of jobs in Western Sydney well into the future.
The NSW Government is delivering key infrastructure like roads so leading companies like Toll can invest in this vibrant region with confidence.
Mr O’Farrell was joined today by local Liberal MPs Andrew Rohan (Smithfield) and Tanya Davies (Mulgoa). Mr O’Farrell said road projects like the Erskine Park Link Road and the $70 million upgrade of Old Wallgrove Road – announced in this year’s budget – were unlocking employment lands in Western Sydney.
This area near the junction of M7 and M4 is being transformed into a major jobs hub and the NSW Government is delivering the infrastructure to ensure it reaches its potential.
