Tanya Davies MP, State Member for Mulgoa today announced that Sydney Water’s contractor, Downer, will be upgrading the wastewater pumping station at the corner of Kukundi Drive and Alston Street, Glenmore Park. This work is part of the SewerFix Program to improve the wastewater system and TO protect public health and the environment.
Work is planned to start on Friday 20 March 2015. The work will take about 10 weeks to complete, weather permitting. Work hours are from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and from 8am to1 pm on Saturdays if required.
The work involves:
A Review of Environmental Factors (REF) has approved the removal of the 3 trees (Callistemon and Melaeuca species) from within the site. Downer is currently in discussion with the Tree Preservation section at Penrith City Council to plan the removal.
Residents and businesses have been notified about the work. They may notice an increase in personnel and vehicles, dust, and temporary construction noise from vehicles, equipment and deliveries.
This work will not affect water or wastewater services.
Sydney Water and its contractors will make every effort to minimise any impact this work may have on the community.
